He had bought levels he didn't understand, crossed a gate he couldn't see past, glimpsed gods made of laws and a beggar who could not be measured, and never once been shown the *map.* Now, settled into the strange vast quiet of Foundation Establishment, his nation breathing as his core, he finally asked the System the question he had been too busy surviving to ask: *what is the shape of the thing I'm climbing?*\n\nAnd the System, which had spent a year selling him pieces and withholding the whole, finally — now that he had crossed into the realm where pieces stopped mattering and understanding began — told him.\n\nIt was not incomprehensible. That was the first relief, and the first terror. He had half-expected mysticism, fog, the unknowable. Instead the System laid out the realm of power the way a guild might lay out a trade: a structure, with levels, and many *roads* up it. Foundation Establishment was the first true realm; above it stretched others, named and unnamed, climbing past anything he could yet hold. And up that vast ladder ran not one path but *many* — many ways to become strong, each with its own logic, its own price, its own kind of god at the end of it. He had thought there was the System's way and the natural way, his road and Arjun's. There were dozens. The world of power was wide, and old, and full of roads, and he had been walking one of them blind.\n\nThe System taught him the great ones, and as it did, Krishna found himself doing the thing he always did — mapping it onto the people he'd met, fitting faces to the structure, and watching the whole churning world he'd fought across resolve, at last, into an order.\n\n---\n\nThere was ENERGY CULTIVATION, the System said — the broad common highway, the road most walked. Sit, and breathe, and draw the unsealed world's restored vitality into yourself — the qi, the prana, the ambient power that had flooded back when the seal broke — and refine it, circulate it, condense it, year on year, until it evolved your body and your soul together. Slow. Stable. Patient. The orthodox path, the one a disciplined survivor could walk in a quiet place for a lifetime and become mighty. *Most of the awakening world will find this one,* the System said, *as the dust settles and the teachers emerge.* Krishna thought of the academy, of the young awakeners he'd given a safe place to learn, and understood that he had, without knowing it, begun building the first school of exactly this — children learning to breathe in the new world's power instead of dying of it.\n\nThere was the YOGIC WAY, the path of consciousness — and at this one Krishna felt the forgotten age stir under the words. The rishis' road. Not the refinement of energy but of *awareness* itself: tapas, the austerity that tempers the will; dhyana, the meditation that sharpens the soul to a point; the long inward climb that ended in siddhis, in seers, in men who moved the world with the disciplined power of their own minds. *Earth's forgotten age was full of these,* the System said, flat and strange. *They are why your myths remember sages who could curse a king or bless a barren land with a word.* And Krishna thought of the Old Fort, burning its golden-red against every dusk, and the beings stirring behind its wall, and understood that what waited in Indraprastha might be exactly this — ancient masters of the yogic road, woken from the long sleep of the sealing, walking the new world with the refined consciousness of the age that built the first cities.\n\nThere was the NATURAL way — the bloodline road, power risen from *within*, from blood or soul or a bond to land and element that the unsealing simply *woke.* No method, no teacher, no organization; you became strong because of what you *were.* And here Krishna's map filled with faces he knew. Arjun, the river answering him as kin. The Vanya, a whole people merged with their forest and water. The forgotten age's god-kings and nagas and yakshas, the System named — bloodlines so potent the myths had called them gods. The natural awakeners owed no one and grew from their own deepest nature, and Krishna understood, at last, the thing that had unsettled him about Arjun from the first: that the river-man's power was *his*, unbought, unleashed, free in a way Krishna's never would be.\n\nAnd there was the DEMONIC way, and the System's flat voice did not change at all when it described the worst road on the ladder, which was somehow more chilling than horror would have been. Strength by *devouring.* Refine yourself by consuming other living things — their flesh, their blood, their essence, their *souls* — beasts first, and then, for those who walked it far, *people.* Fast. Terribly fast. A demonic cultivator could climb in a season what an energy cultivator climbed in a decade, by eating the lives of others into his own. And abominated for exactly that reason, hunted by every orthodox road, the path of those who became bloodthirsty demons wearing the shape of men. *Goga's slavers,* Krishna thought, cold, *the warlords who fed on people — they were crude unawakened shadows of this.* And somewhere out in the churning world, the System implied, were the real thing — true demonic cultivators, devouring their way up the ladder, and he had not met one yet, and the day he did would not be a good day.\n\nThere were lesser and stranger roads — the martial tempering of the body to monstrous extremes, of which his own bought Apprentice tier had been a crude purchased fragment; alchemy, the refining of pills and elixirs; the formation-masters who wove arrays; the artifact and weapon paths; and, the System noted, in a world where myth was waking, the road of FAITH — strength drawn from worship and belief, potent and rising as frightened survivors began, here and there, to pray to powers that now, terribly, sometimes answered.\n\nAnd above all of them, hardest and highest, the DAO — the road of comprehension, of *becoming a law.* Not gaining power over a thing but *becoming* that thing's truth in the world: the swordsman who became the cut, the river-man who might, far up his road, become the River itself, the merchant who — Krishna felt the gate-glimpse stir — might one day become *Value*, or *Exchange*, or *the Keeping*, a law of the world wearing a man's face. The gods made of laws he'd seen beyond the gate walked this road. *The one who came to your fire as a beggar,* the System said, and for once there was something almost like respect in the flat voice, *walks something we cannot map. Likely this. Likely far up it.*\n\nKrishna sat in the quiet of his grandfather's shop with a year of blind climbing suddenly given a map, and felt the world resolve and the scale open at the same instant.\n\n---\n\nIt was vertiginous, the way the first true sight of a mountain is vertiginous — not despair, but the dizzy recalibration of a man who thought he'd climbed high and now sees how high *high* goes.\n\nHe had eaten two empires and built a nation and crossed a gate, and he had thought, in his small human way, that this made him *large.* And the map showed him that he was a thing at the very bottom of the very first realm of one road among dozens, on a ladder that climbed through realm after realm by way after way into the beggar's pits-that-swallow-worlds and rivers-that-make-oceans-look-like-puddles. The giants he'd devoured had been bought-system cultivators, crude and leashed, barely onto the ladder at all. Arjun was a natural awakener at the foot of the bloodline road. The Vanya were a whole people taking their first steps up it. And above all of them — the orthodox energy cultivators who'd emerge as the dust settled, the woken rishis of the Old Fort, the demonic things devouring in the dark, the dao-walkers who were laws, and above *them*, the Imperial Merchants who seeded systems into worlds like his as a *business*, and above even them, whatever ran the churning of worlds — the ladder went up, and up, and up, into a brightness he could not yet look at directly.\n\nHe was not large. He was a young merchant on a very old road, exactly as the beggar had said, and now he had seen the road, and the seeing did not frighten him the way it would have frightened the boy at the shutter.\n\nIt *focused* him.\n\nBecause he had something none of the other roads had, the System reminded him, turning at last from the map of the world to the map of his own strange feet — a method no energy cultivator or yogi or natural awakener or demon walked, a road the Merchants had offered him and he had proved, against all odds, compatible with. The Imperial Convoy. And it was time, now that he understood the shape of the ladder, to understand the shape of his own particular, peculiar way up it — its power, and its price.\n\n\"Show me,\" Krishna said quietly, to the System, to the lamplit shop, to the nation breathing as his soul. \"I've seen the world's roads. Show me mine. Tell me exactly what I am now — and exactly what it's going to cost.\"\n\n> **Balance:** 93,250 Coin\n> **【 Realm: Foundation Establishment (First Stage). The map of power — revealed.
